Tamarisk Farm is a long established mixed organic farm situated on the beautiful coast of West Dorset behind the Chesil Beach.
The family were amongst the early members of the Soil Association and have grown wholesome food to organic standards since 1960.
We grow a variety of organic produce for sale directly to customers.

quarters, and maybe even see one being born. This is always a delightful session guaranteed to bring
out the soft side of everyone! Children are welcome, but this is for every age to enjoy whether you
are 2 or 102. (No dogs please)
Wild Flower Walk - 2.30pm Saturday
11th June Meet at the National Trust car park at Cogden
A chance to walk
at Cogden in the company of experts to discover the glory and subtlety of the early summer flowers.
From the delicate and tiny hairy tare to the intense pink of the grass vetchling; the intricacy of
the bee orchid to the gaudiness of the dyers greenweed; the shy and variable milkwort a nd the
hidden but beautiful butterfly orchids ... every year is different but always it is special.
Cogden, Cattle and Conservation - 3.30pm Sat 2nd July Meet at the National
Trust car park at Cogden
An opportunity to visit the lovely Red Ruby cattle, see some
wildflowers and to discuss with the farmers and National Trust Wardens how the conservation
management works to produce both first quality beef and wildlife. The walk will be followed by a
barbeque on the beach (for which there will be a charge). In conjunction with the National
Trust
Farm Walk - 2.30pm Saturday 9th July Meet at West Bexington
in the village centre
A pre-harvest walk at West Bexington to see how the organic
farming fits in with the conservation. We will walk around the grassland, scrub and growing crops,
and hope to see a range of different wildflowers including many pretty, and now uncommon, arable
weeds.
Annual Open Day - Sunday 21st August
10.30am to 4.00pm
As ever this
promises to be an interesting and enjoyable day with new things to see and talk about and new
challenges to discuss. Drop in for 10 minutes or 2 hours: join us just for a cup of tea and a chat
or stay for a full farm walk and lunch.
- Again this year the flour milling tour will take place with bread samples to taste and recipes to
discuss.
- There will be tours around the farm to see animals, crops and wildflowers; with this year
additional interest in the range of threatened arable weeds as well.
- Enthusiasts can walk around (and taste) the vegetable garden with Arthur and tap his extensive
experience.
- Ask us those hard questions which challenge us to justify why we farm the way we do.
- Produce will be available to buy, and we will be selling food for lunch.
- As in previous years Sea Spring Farm, our friends and neighbours in the village, will also be
open to show their extensive range of chillies and speciality seeds.
Dorset Food Week - 2.30pm Sunday 30th October Meet at West Bexington in the
